Start Slow, Build Steady

Follow the 10% rule: never increase your weekly mileage by more than 10%. This prevents overuse injuries and keeps you running consistently. Most new runner injuries come from doing too much, too soon.

Easy Runs Should Be Easy

80% of your runs should be at conversational pace. You should be able to speak in full sentences. Easy runs build your aerobic base, which is the foundation of all running performance.

Warm Up Properly

Start every run with 5-10 minutes of walking or very easy jogging. Before speed work, add dynamic stretches: leg swings, high knees, butt kicks. Save static stretching for after your run.

Fuel Your Runs
